Traveling to Santorini by Ferry-boat or high-speed-boat


A nice way to reach the island, is by a regular ferry boat service from the port of Piraeus, Thessaloniki or Crete and almost all the Cycladic islands.
The boat trip takes approximately 7-9 hours depending on the ferry and the ports of call. For those participants having extra time, this is a relaxing, pleasant journey.


From Athens (Piraeus Port or Rafina Port) to Santorini by ferry boat or high speed boat:

It will take you 6 ½ to 9 hours from Piraeus Port to Santorini Port, depending on whether you take a ferry boat or a high speed boat.

The trip from Rafina Port to Santorini Port is approximately 6 ½ hours long.

From Thessaloniki to Santorini by ferry boat or high speed boat:

From Santorini Island, you can also reach other Cycladic Islands, Crete Island and Skiathos Island by ferry or high speed boats.
A daily high speed boat is available only during the summer period leaving from the port of Piraeus and from numerous other Cycladic islands and Crete.

At Santorini Port (Athinios) and Santorini Airport (Monolithos), you can catch buses for destinations throughout the island.
If you prefer to rent a means of transportation, there are a number of car rental agencies near the port and airport of Santorini.
